Moisture in your home can be devastating, leading to the buildup of dangerous mold and mildew.

That’s why a great dehumidifier is so essential.

If you’ve started to shop for a dehumidifier, you’ve probably come across the Vremi Dehumidifier.

Our Vremi Dehumidifier review will provide you everything you need to know for choosing whether to add a Vremi to your home.

FEATURES TO CONSIDER

Before we tell you all about the features that the Vremi Dehumidifier has to offer, it’s important that you first understand what matters when it comes to buying a dehumidifier.

Noise Level

features to consider when buying a dehumidifier

Noise is an important consideration when you are shopping for a dehumidifier.

If a device is so loud that it annoys you every time you walk into the room, you’re not going to be inclined to continue to run it.

A quieter dehumidifier is best, as you will be more likely to run it 24/7 to remove the moisture in your home.

Of course, noise tolerance varies wildly. A volume that you don’t mind may drive your spouse crazy.

As a result, before buying, don’t only assess the dehumidifier’s noise level, but also consider your family’s sensitivity to noise.

Size

Before you can decide on a dehumidifier, you need to know the square footage of the room in which it will be running.

It’s usually recommended that you buy a dehumidifier that can work at a higher capacity, rather than one that runs the risk of being too small.

The Vremi Dehumidifier is offered models in two capacities: 1,500 and 4,500 square feet.

If you’re on the fence, it’s a smart move to opt for the larger unit so that it won’t have to work as hard – resulting in a longer lasting unit.

Humidity

You also need to think about the moisture and humidity levels of the room in which you are going to place your Vremi Dehumidifier.

If you don’t already have an idea of how much moisture is in the home, you can test it. Pick up a hygrometer. They are cheap and will tell you how much moisture is in the air in your home.

Keep in mind that the humidity inside your home isn’t just dictated by the interior conditions, either.

If you live in a humid climate, you are going to have a moisture-laden home. Therefore, if you live in a humid climate, you might want to invest in a high quality dehumidifier as it’s going to have to work overtime.

Temperature

The temperature of the space in which you will be using the dehumidifier is important because some models don’t work as well in cold temperatures.

While not likely, you don’t want to have to worry about the dehumidifier coils freezing up.

Water Collection

There are several ways that a dehumidifier can collect water and then remove it once it’s full.

Some dehumidifiers shut off as soon as the bucket is full, while others can be connected via a drain hose to an outdoor drainage area; others include upward pumps and may require additional attachments for drainage.

Other Features

As you shop for dehumidifiers, you may notice that some come with other options and features.

You may find models that have ducting so you can dehumidify more than one space, while others have wheels, handles, digital controls, or internal condensate pumps for greater control.

What We Loved

There’s a lot to love about the Vremi Dehumidifier, also known as the “Moisture Maniac,” but here are some of our favorite features.

Two Sizes

The Vremi Dehumidifier is sold in two different coverage sizes.

The 22-pint unit covers up to 1500 square feet while the 50-pint unit can cover up to 4,500 square feet.

These choices make it easy for you to find the dehumidifier size that’s perfect for your home’s square footage and moisture level.

You can easily manage moisture at any level, from small spaces like bedrooms or closets to larger areas like offices or basements.

Sleek Design

review of vremi dehumidifier

The Vremi Dehumidifier might look like a rocket ship with its sleek, stylish design, but it’s not! It’s incredibly easy to use. All you have to do is adjust it to your desired moisture settings and allow it to run its continuous 24-hour cycle.

It has a clean look with built-in wheels that make it more convenient to push around the home.

Plus, it has handles in case you need to move it up and down the stairs.

Safety

The Vremi Dehumidifier has all the features you will need with none of the safety concerns.

Mold does not build up in the tank, and since it doesn’t blow out hot air as it works, you can safely leave it plugged into an isolated location for months at a time – as long as it’s connected to a continuous drainage hose.

It will also work at cold temperatures and warm temperatures up to 90 degrees.

Humidity Control

Efficient and quiet, the Vremi Dehumidifier does a great job at removing moisture in any room of your home.

It can purify the air and remove moisture at the same time and is safe to use in areas of both high and low foot traffic.

It operates quietly and efficiently and you don’t have to worry about overflow as it has an auto shut-off feature so that you will hardly know it’s there.

This dehumidifier is relentless at removing moisture in your home’s air.

It has multiple modes, including continuous mode. If you use continuous node, you won’t have to worry about manually adjusting the humidity level – the Vremi Dehumidifier will continue removing moisture from the air without you having to lift a finger.

Mobility and Adaptability

If you’re sick of dealing with bulky, inefficient dehumidifiers, the Vremi Dehumidifier is the perfect alternative. A lightweight unit, it stands just over a foot tall and under 20” wide. It has attached wheels that make it easy to transport the unit from room to room. It even has an auto shut-off feature so you’ll know exactly when it’s time to change the tank.

However, if you’d rather not deal with emptying the tank (or you know you won’t be around to do so), you can also use the optional gravity-fed drain house outlet instead.

This allows the unit to continuously discharge moisture outside of your home.

No emptying requiring!

Some users even report that you can use a garden hose to discharge the moisture so you don’t even need to worry about buying extra equipment.

The Vremi Dehumidifier also comes with a timer so that you can turn it on and off to remove humidity whenever you need it to.

Cleaning Ability

Not only is the Vremi Dehumidifier excellent at removing excess moisture from the air, but it also purifies the surrounding environment with its built-in filters.

It can remove everything from allergies to dirt to even mold, mildew, and bacteria from the air; helping you to breathe easier with the Vremi Dehumidifier.

Plus, this product comes with a powerful filter that is easy to clean. You only need to clean it about once a month in order to free the air from impurities.

An Energy Star rated dehumidifier, the Vremi operates just about as efficiently as possible.

You likely won’t even see a noticeable increase in your electric bill.

Environmental Tolerance

The Vremi Dehumidifier has a special feature to deal with cold weather. When frost begins to build on the evaporator coils, the compressor cycles off. The fan continues to run until the frost disappears, helping to prevent damage to the machine.

If you live in an area where there are frequent power outages, this is the unit to have.

It has an automatic restart feature so that when the power goes out and then comes back on, the unit will automatically restart with the features and settings you already had programmed in.

Excellent Customer Service

When you receive your Vremi Dehumidifier, you will likely be amused by the cheeky packaging.

There are plenty of anthropomorphizing statements about how to care for your new dehumidifier – just like it was a child! – along with all the instructions you need to get set up and started.

Everything is written in clear, concise language that is easy to follow.

Plus, if you have any issues with the dehumidifier, you won’t have trouble getting in touch with customer service. The customer service for Vremi is incredibly responsive and helpful.

What We Didn’t Love

As with any product, there are some concerns to keep in mind.

While there wasn’t a lot that we didn’t like about this dehumidifier, there were a couple of issues to keep in mind.

Here are some of the issues we noticed when using the Vremi Dehumidifier.

Noise

Although the manufacturer claims that the Vremi Dehumidifier operates quietly, numerous buyers have voiced their concern that the Vremi operates on the noisy end.

Although the unit does a great job of removing humidity in the air, it can be loud during operation; some users liken it to an old fashioned in-window air conditioning unit.

However, this can easily be remedied by bumping the unit down from Turbo mode to its regular setting. This will drastically reduce noise levels in the room.

Complicated Hose Drainage

The Vremi Dehumidifier can be used with both a manual emptying option and a hose drainage option.

However, some customers report that it can be challenging to empty the Vremi with the hose.

Since you can’t set the desired level – it will only be set to continuous drainage – with the hose attached, you might find that it has trouble working if the hose is longer than six feet because there is no pump included.

As a result, you might need to put the Vremi Dehumidifier on an elevated surface, like a table, to help gravity do the pumping for you.

Plus, the hose for drainage is not included, so if you want to be able to do this, you will need to purchase a separate hose.

HOMEGENEROSITY READER REVIEWS

We sent a request out to our readers and here’s what they had to say about the Vremi Dehumidifier:

“I bought the vremi dehumidifier for my living room because I was experiencing a fair amount of condensation on my windows in the morning – big problem, I know! I’ve had the vremi for three days now and the condensation is gone. No more water on the windows and my wife is no longer worried.”

***

“Our basement was so wet. We went with the 4,500 square foot model by Vremi and there’s been a night and day difference. I run the dehumidifier all day and connect a hose to my sump pump well so there are no collection issues. The dehumidifier is a little on the loud side but for our basement it really doesn’t matter.”

***

“Great value. This dehumidifier by Vremi is rated to cover more than my entire house in square footage. I set it up in the laundry room and my whole house has been dry. 10/10 would recommend.”
